Timeline for Idaho SkillsUSA State Officer Applications of MTCHS SkillsUSA Members

Interested candidates must have been or currently be a local SkillsUSA Officer or a SkillsUSA Class Representative

  • By Friday, February 5:  Notify Ms. Deitchler by email and pick up the State Officer Application.
  • Responsibilities and expectations of the position at the state level and the local level:
    • In addition to State Responsibilities you are expected to attend and help with all MTCHS SkillsUSA events and meetings
    • Must be a SkillsUSA Rewards member, $10 dues must be paid by February 5, 2016, and will be able to earn rewards points
  • Prepare a 60 second speech: I want to become an Idaho State SkillsUSA Officer because…”
  • Thursday, February 11 @ Tech Fair Opening Session:  Be prepared to give your speech and answer one question in front of the student body
  • Verify Idaho Statesman Pin Status:  Must have completed form turned in by Monday, February 22
  • Campaign until February 24
  • Wednesday,February 24:  At SkillsUSA Lunch Meeting – Candidate speeches and voting for two candidates to apply for state office from MTCHS
    • Upon voting, the two candidates with the highest votes will complete the Idaho SkillsUSA State Officer Application with supporting documents by Tuesday, March 1
  • Failure to meet any or all deadlines will result in forfeiting your position to run for state office

Here are the items that should be included in your application (available in the SkillsUSA Resources Class in moodle):

  • State Officer Candidate Packet (all pages completed, signed, dated, etc.)
  • Letter of support from current advisor
  • Letter of support from current administrator (principal or other school administrator)
  • SkillsUSA Statesman Award Application (or proof of previously awarded)
