NHS Hat Week – One More Day!

National Honor Society has raised $113.25 so far this week for the Make a Wish Foundation of Idaho.  Funds raised will go to local kids in need of a Wish-ful day.  NHS hopes to kick it up a notch and sell more “Hat Passes” so that $200 can be raised by Friday!  We accept donations if you don’t want to wear a hat.  NHS members are in Haley Hall every morning to sell passes and accept donations.
Many thanks to our generous students who have already donated or purchased a “Hat Pass” for this very worthy cause!

BPA State 2017

BPA Fundraising

The MTCHS Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter recently competed at the Idaho BPA State Leadership Conference. Eight of our students won gold and silver in their events and have been invited to Orlando, Florida for the 51st Annual National Leadership Conference (NLC), on May 9-14, 2017.
Our students have worked hard to earn the chance to compete at the national level! Each individual member and local chapter is responsible for the cost of attending NLC at approximately $1,500 per student. We are looking for individuals and/or businesses who are willing to help sponsor our students. Your donation is tax deductible. MTCHS has seven students attending NLC in the following competitions: Network Design Team, PC Troubleshooting, and Network Administration. This means we need to raise around $10,500.
Thank you for your help!

Skills – Winners

Higher Ed Day

Thursday was Higher Ed Day at Meridian Technical Charter High School and Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School.  Representatives of nine colleges and universities in Idaho came to visit Juniors from MTCHS, MMACHS, and Central Academy.  Presentations were made at both MTCHS and MMACHS, and students had the chance to attend sessions from three of the following: Boise Bible College, Boise State University, BYU Idaho, College of Idaho, College of Western Idaho, Idaho State University, Lewis and Clark State College, Northwest Nazarene University, and University of Idaho.

It is an exciting and sometimes nerve-wracking time for Juniors as they begin to make decisions about their future.  This is a great time for parents to start thinking about college visits… yes, really!  Mrs. Green has already met with each junior individually that took the PSAT.  This fall she will have a muffin breakfast every Thursday morning starting at 7:15, starting in September and going through October.  This is for students who need help or have questions about the college application process.  If you have any questions you may call or email Mrs. Green at maryhelen.green@clone.smtchs.org.
