This is a tech note for Saturday 5/27/17

You may or may not be aware of the recent cyber attacks plaguing networks and data centers. The latest attacks manifest itself as ransomware, which is designed to prevent users from accessing their data until a ransom is paid. PowerSchool has taken the appropriate steps to prevent these attacks from occurring and no systems have been affected.

As an additional measure of defense, we will perform security patches across all application and database servers this weekend. These updates will require PowerSchool to be offline for up to 18 hours while servers are updated. No change will be made to PowerSchool application and database versions. The updates will be performed on Saturday, May 27th, 2017.

Finals Schedule

Finals schedule, May 31 to June 2!

Finals Week can be a very stressful time.  You’re probably concentrating on studying, but it’s also important to take care of yourself by eating well, getting some exercise, a little sunshine, and fresh air, and stick to a reasonable sleep schedule.  Studies have shown that exhausted brains don’t focus as well, so know when you need to take a break!

Stay positive and persist.  You can be ready by working hard, seeking help, and using effective strategies.

PTSO

Many thanks to our wonderful PTSO! This organization provided tremendous support for our school all year long, and one of the event they sponsored was the PTSO Luncheon on May 12. Students and staff all enjoyed the fried chicken, fruit, chips and cookies they provided. Thank you to Sheryl Bishop, PTSO President, and all the parents who take such great care of us!
