Thanksgiving Break

School will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from November 23 to November 27.  We would like to wish all of our families a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

NHS Hats and Costumes Fundraiser

National Honor Society is sponsoring an awesome fundraiser the week of November 17-20: Hats and Costumes!  $5 lets you wear a school-appropriate costume, 🕵 or $2 gives you hat privileges for a day! 🎩

Of course there will be a competition between track C & D!  The track that raises the most money will get a lunch scheduled 10 mins early the first week of December! NHS representatives will come around to classes first thing each morning next week to collect the money.  NO CHANGE WILL BE GIVEN.  If you pay more than $2 or $5 you will get to wear your costume or hat on both your track days next week.

NHS is proud to announce that the funds that are collected are going to the Make A Wish foundation, which  creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.  Further information about this great cause may be found at wish.org.  We appreciate all of you who will be pitching in to help this great cause!

Veterans Day 2020

In years past, MTCHS has been able to honor our community members who are veterans with an annual Veterans Day Assembly sponsored by Student Government.  With COVID restrictions, we were unable to have the assembly this year, but we still wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to our veterans.

To all veterans and active duty service members, thank you.

Schedule Nov 2 – 6

Schedule for the week of November 2 through November 6

Socktober Challenge 2020

Student Government is happy to announce the annual Socktober Challenge!  In years past, we’ve pitched grade level competitions; this year we’re having a competition of Track C vs Track D!  In years past, MTCHS has really turned out to fill our sock bins… this year, with two days left of the month, they’re looking kind of sad.  We understand with the craziness of 2020, Socktober has been put on the back burner.  But we know our Dragons still like to help out, so we’re extending Socktober into November… “Socktember,” if you will!  Our new deadline for sock donation will be November 13!  Exciting prizes for the Track that donates the most socks will soon be announced, stay tuned!

Class of 2021 Pictures

Seniors will have the traditional tux and drape Senior Pictures on Thursday, October 29. These are the photos we use in our yearly Senior photo montage that is displayed in our hallways.  Due to the current COVID situation, students will have a couple of options, please decide beforehand which option you are most comfortable with.

  1. Students may use the tux and drape attire provided by the photographer, extra precautions are being taken regarding safe handling of studio clothing props.

  2. Alternatively, you can wear your own white button down dress shirt or black shell.  Neither of these should have any pattern.

Please complete the form at this link: https://www.hillphoto.net/mtchs-2021-seniors  This allows Hill Photography to share your senior’s traditional portraits with you and gives you purchasing options, if you wish.

If you have any questions, please contact the school:  info@clone.smtchs.org, 208.288.2928

Normal Day, October 21

MTCHS school will resume it’s alternating day schedule on Wed. Oct. 21 with Track D coming to school, Track C online learning at home.

eDay October 20, 2020

MTCHS will have another eDay on Tuesday Oct. 20 due to the lack of transportation provided by the West Ada School District.  We have no choice or say in this process and are subject to the transportation of students by West Ada.  MTCHS teachers will be working, and all students are required to log in and work remotely.

Please read the following.

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

District Administration has been working with the West Ada Education Association to ensure that school can happen on Tuesday. Currently, we have 440 teachers who have called in sick for tomorrow. We are sadly unable to safely hold school tomorrow due to supervision concerns. This includes students enrolled in Virtual School House, and students who would have been learning remotely. We are continuing to work with the West Ada Education Association to find solutions to their concerns so we can hold school Wednesday.

Free meals are available to students from 10:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at many school locations. You must order before 7 a.m. using the form available on this webpage (https://www.westada.org/FreeMeals) to guarantee a meal is available for you.

Sincerely,

West Ada School District
