This is a tech note for Saturday 5/27/17

You may or may not be aware of the recent cyber attacks plaguing networks and data centers. The latest attacks manifest itself as ransomware, which is designed to prevent users from accessing their data until a ransom is paid. PowerSchool has taken the appropriate steps to prevent these attacks from occurring and no systems have been affected.

As an additional measure of defense, we will perform security patches across all application and database servers this weekend. These updates will require PowerSchool to be offline for up to 18 hours while servers are updated. No change will be made to PowerSchool application and database versions. The updates will be performed on Saturday, May 27th, 2017.

On Saturday, May 27th, 2017, your PowerSchool service will be offline for up to 18 hours in one of the following maintenance windows. Your maintenance window will be communicated through an admin maintenance banner that we will displayed beginning Monday, May 22nd.
