2018 NCWIT Award Recipients!

Congratulations to our FOUR Idaho NCWIT (National Center for Women and Information Technology) Award recipients!  These girls, one junior and three sophomores, all won Honorable Mention last night at the 2018 Idaho Affiliate Award Celebration.  They each received a renewable $500 BSU Computer Science Scholarship,  an engraved NCWIT plaque, and a bag full of prizes.

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors women in grades 9 through 12 who are active and interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award for AiC recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post‑secondary education.

Great job, ladies!  We are so very proud of your accomplishments!

Retro Tech Party!

The Retro Tech Party is this Friday from 3PM – 9PM.  It’s going to be the most gnarly party yet!  All 8th graders who filled out an application for our school are invited to attend.

There will also be fun inside activities like Live Clue, a Scavenger Hunt and a Board Game Room. If you’d like to set up Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: The Gathering feel free to do so. You may also bring along any board or card game you enjoy, but please make sure it’s school appropriate.

We are serving pizza, soda, ice cream, and marshmallows at the Fire Pit, and yes, there are prizes!
