Student Government

The Student Government is a group of 16 students who address student concerns and plan social events to improve the atmosphere of MTCHS. They learn leadership skills by attending regional and state conferences and are responsible for raising the funds for those events.

They are advised by Mr. Coleman and Mrs. Biggs.

If you are interested in becoming a representative or part of volunteer council, talk to Mrs. Biggs in room 109
Meetings
Student government meets every Tuesday during lunch in room 109.

If you have a idea you would like to propose to student government, please fill out the form located here.

The Purpose

The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.

Teamwork

Student government is all about teamwork, everything you do involves coordinating with other people in leadership positions. Being able to work effectively in a team is a hugely desired skill in the working world and getting lots of experience in college will prepare you for your future career.
