Clothes for the Cause

MTCHS will be collecting clothing and textiles to raise money for SkillsUSA and to benefit those who are in need!

We will be collecting all bags of clothing in Haley Hall, and weighing them in to see how much you’ve donated in pounds.
This will be a grade level competition, where the winning grade level will get an extra 10 minutes at lunch!

League of Legends Interschool Tournament

This April, the MTCHS Student Government is holding an Interschool League of Legends Tournament. What this means is that we’ve been advertising to all of the other high schools in the West Ada School District. This will be a Best of One, single elimination tournament, with anywhere between eight and sixteen teams. Whether you have experience with League of Legends or not, we encourage you to come out to cheer on your friends, and potentially learn a little bit about the game.
In addition to League of Legends skin codes, which we will be handing out and can be redeemed in game for an aesthetic item, there will be places for you to set up your own computers in Haley Hall and play League or another game while watching the games that are currently going on. We will have some people talking about the game, and what is going on, so that we can help educate new players on why teams are doing the things that they are doing.
Finally, the retired professional gamer, Tyler “Lautemortis” Nicholls, who played League of Legends for a majority of his career will be coming and talking a little bit about his time in the e-sports scene before the final matches are played.
If you play League of Legends, and have any high school friends within the West Ada School District that play as well, we encourage you to let them know about it, as they can also participate!

Lottery FAQ’s

  • What are my chances of getting in if my number is larger than 60?

Answer:  Numbers 61 and above have now formed our waiting list.  As positions are declined then the next student on the waiting list (starting with #61) will be called to accept or decline the available position.  In the last two years we have gotten to student numbers 86-98 before closing enrollment.

  • Can my child still apply for the lottery?

Answer:  The lottery drawing has already taken place.  Any names on applications received after 2/14/16 will now be added to the bottom of the list of names.  Next year the waiting list names for 9th grade will be redrawn for the 10th grade.

  • Now what happens?

Answer:  All parents of students that were in the lottery drawing will receive a letter from MTCHS within the next week.  Students that are numbers 1-60 will be asked to accept or decline their position.  Students 61 and above will be given information on what classes to take at their home high schools in case they are called from the waiting list.
